Woodland Mossy Mirror
This Woodland Themed Mirror is a beautiful way to bring a bit of the forest into your home. How wonderful to use the fiddleybits collected on your country walk in such an elegant way.
Mirror, any size (I used "wedding centerpiece" mirrors, Recycle those wedding leftovers!)
Green sheet moss
Assortment of seeds, pods, cinnamon sticks, acorns and sm. pine cones
Greenery: I used a realistic artificial fern, you can use any kind of preserved leaves or silk greenery. It just needs to be small.
Make sure you have a way to hang your mirror. This mirror was a leftover from a wedding arrangement and not meant to hang on the wall. But because it was so light I simply hot-glued a twisted wire to the back. There is no way you could do that with a heavier piece though.
First draw a heart shape around your mirror
Glue the moss within your parameters. CAUTION: GLue strings from the glue gun are very hard to remove from the mirror. Take care when gluing to keep the strings away.
Add the largest pods and seeds next. I always finish adding one kind before starting the next kind, keeps it symmetrically pleasing. Make sure your pods are glued to the mirror and not just to the moss (or they will fall off).
Add the next batch of fall goodies. And by the way, this wreath smells heavenly!
Add tiny pieces or artificial fern or some kind of small greenery (bay leaves?)
These are great sizes to do a small woodland collection.
You can see in this picture how the fern softens the whole effect.
